Self-compassion isn’t a luxury. It’s a powerful, essential healing tool.
I say this a lot. Because it’s true.
Many of the women I work with are doing everything they can to get better:
changing their diet, taking supplements, exercising, going to doctors.
But they’re still in pain.
What’s missing?
Often, it’s self-compassion.
Pain isn’t just physical.
Chronic pain is real. But it’s not always coming from an injury.
Sometimes the brain and nervous system get stuck in “danger mode.”
The brain learns to expect pain, even when there’s no real threat.
This is called neuroplastic pain — and the good news is, it’s changeable.
Your brain can unlearn pain.
But it needs to feel safe first.
That’s where self-compassion comes in.
Your body heals when it feels safe.
When you beat yourself up, your brain reacts like you’re in danger.
Stress hormones go up. Muscles tense. Healing slows down.
But when you treat yourself kindly — especially during pain — your body responds.
- Your stress hormones go down
- Your heart calms
- Your brain feels safe again
And healing can begin.
Fighting ourselves doesn’t work.
Many of us have been taught to push through pain.
To ignore it.
To blame ourselves for it.
But pain doesn’t get better when we fight it.
It gets better when we listen.
Self-compassion means giving yourself the care you would give a friend.
It’s not weakness. It’s smart.
It tells your nervous system: “I’m safe. I can soften now.”
This internal shift—this emotional safety—is the foundation for physical healing.
💛 This Is the Work of Healing
This is why I created my 6-week Mind-Body Pain Reduction course.
It’s gentle.
It’s science-based.
And it helps you reconnect with your body in a kind, healing way.
We use tools like:
- Mindfulness
- Self-compassion
- Nervous system education
- Simple movement
- Writing exercises
You don’t have to have a meditation practice.
You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to be curious — and ready to try something new.
I want you to know that your body wants to heal — it just needs the right conditions.
🌱 Ready to Begin?
The course starts August 4.
If you’ve been living with pain, and you’re ready to try a new approach that’s both smart and gentle — I’d love to have you.
